A Supportive and Safe Haven
Since 2016, our Child Protection and Development Center–Magic Mongolia–has been providing food and temporary shelter to over 50 children per day just outside Mongolia’s capital in Bayankhoshuu.
Training Programs
We also provide resources and skills-training to help the families of the children become more self-sufficient and reduce child abuse and neglect.
Sustainable Initiatives
As the largest non-profit focused on preventing child abuse in Mongolia, our model will be used to strengthen families, build caring communities, and transform an entire at-risk population.

Increasing unemployment, alcoholism, family dysfunction, and inflation have contributed to children being subjected to abuse, violence, neglect, and trafficking. It is estimated that one in every two children experience one of the aforementioned aggressions in Mongolia. It is the lack of a clear legal framework and national strategy, poorly trained workforce, and inadequate resources to respond to child abuse that have exacerbated the problem further.
Unfortunately, the resulting impact is not only devastating for survivors, but also affects their surrounding communities. Many studies show that child abuse is the root cause of many social and health issues and touches all of us in one way or another.
If left unchanged, these children are susceptible to become victims of violence, neglect, human trafficking, or even abusers themselves. Therefore, we work directly with children and their families in underserved areas of Mongolia to stop this toxic cycle.
On average, 45 children consistently visit our library a day.
Over 1,500 donors like yourself from the U.S., Canada, Japan, Great Britain, Sweden, and Switzerland contributed over $200,00 in cash and $250,000 in kind donations. With the incredible support of these countries and fifty volunteers we were able to build our Child Protection and Development Center–Magic Mongolia–in just five short months. Because of your support, over 1,000 children now have the opportunity to develop themselves through handcrafts and life-skills courses.
But we’re not done yet because thousands more children still need our help. Building upon the first center’s success, we plan to open a second Magic Mongolia in another underdeveloped area. Lantuun Dohio USA organizes an event with Arlington’s Project PEACE and starts a much-needed collaboration
On January 25, 2020, Lantuun Dohio USA organized an event with Arlington’s Project PEACE at the county’s Central Library. The PEACE stands for Partnering to End Abuse in the Community for Everyone and is a coordinated community response to raising awareness and developing the most efficient and comprehensive services to end domestic and sexual violence in the community. The event was the first one ever to be organized specifically for the Mongolian community in the area by Project PEACE and was extremely successful. Both Lantuun Dohio USA and the Project PEACE panelists agreed that there is a high need for collaboration and partnership going forward.

Lantuun Dohio has joined partnership with Arlington County’ s Project PEACE (Partnering to End Abuse in the Community for Everyone) in February 2020. Project PEACE has an alliance of sixteen different organizations collaborating to end abuse for everyone, and our team is pleased to work with like-minded partner organizations to educate the public and prevent violence in the community.
